The bridge is down

A month or so before Christmas, I had a little trouble with my pc when, in the middle of typing a document, it decided to switch itself off. It refused to restart so I was forced to crack the case open and inspect the innards. The culprit of the malfunction was pretty easily identified.



That would be the southbridge. In fact, that would be a blown southbridge. Not very impressed after only owning the board less than three months. But following a certain amount of threatened shoutiness, the board was rightfully replaced.
